Question

I just saw that Felicity's bed is $98 and her table and chairs are also $98. Why are they so expensive? They look absolutely beautiful but are they well made? Are they real wood? Are they worth the cost?

Do any of you have this furniture and are there any negatives besides the price?

Hi! I used to have the bed and nightstand but I sold them to get my Addy collection going. The Felicity bed though is my favorite AG furniture item. It is truly a quality piece and worth the money (in my opinion), though it would be smart to try and find it cheaper on Ebay. When it is fully assembled (very easy to do)and the curtains in place, it will take your breath away! I would like to one day buy this bed again, if only for display or to use for other dolls. It was taller than I expected from the photos and the wood was heavier/sturdier. It was exactly like a period antique in miniature. If you can find the retired bedwarmer to go with it, it becomes to gorgeous for words.

The bed does look gorgeous. What about the table and chairs? Do the dolls stay on the chairs?

I have always loved antiques. Felicity has the type of furniture that I would love to have in my size. I wish they wouldn't have retired her night table.

I think they are real wood. Are they worth it? Anytime I convince myself they are, I end up thinking how many AG outfits I could purchase in place of the furniture. (Or even two more dolls!) I guess it depends on how serious a collector one is. If one thinks it's worth it, then it is.

I have Felicity's bed from when I was younger, and I just recently got her table and chairs. They are real wood and her bed is very good quality (although I wish I took better care of it--and didn't let the cats on it--when I was little!!). The chairs and table are beautiful, especially the chairs. They are lighter than I thought, but real wood. Good quality, IMO!

We have Felicity's dressing table and we love it. It is very high quality with lots of fine details. They are kind of expensive though, but look at it this way: it will be a nice investment since Felicity's items are pretty much collectibles now. The only problem is you will not want to play with it since it's so expensive. So it is a dilemma.

I think all the furniture is worth the price. I now have Molly and Josefina's beds and will someday have Felicity's bed. It is very well made, and I've heard many many stories about cats sleeping on the doll beds and not breaking them, they just need a little TLC to get rid of all the cat hair.

Yep- my cat periodically slept in Kirsten's bed from the time I got it in the late '80s through 2003. The instant she saw Felicity's bed when I bought it in 2004, she claimed it and will sleep on it if it is set up. I have to de-hair the bedding every so often when the beds are out, but they are very sturdy and have never had any problems. Granted, I have a small cat.

I have her table/chairs and her bed and I love them. They are expensive, but I think worth the price. Her table top tilts for easier storage too. The chairs are a bit slippery, but I am able to position my dolls on them and not have them slide off. Their legs stick out kind of funny, but they do this on Kirsten's chairs too since their knees can't bend. Felicity's bed is, without a doubt, my favorite bed and possibly my favorite furniture item AG makes. It is gorgeous and very well made. The linens are perfect and the mattress and pillow is very soft and full. Both items are wood and have a really beautiful finish to them IMO.

I also look at it this way as a perspective on the beds... Felicity's is $98 but it comes with all the linens. Kirsten's and Addy's and Josefina's beds run what, about $45-50, but then you still have to buy bedding for another $20. So the general AG price for a bed and bedding is about $60-70. Felicity's bed is so much bigger (and I think nicer) than the other beds, it makes sense to cost more. Plus, you have all the bed curtains on top of the blanket.
